Becoming a Learning Modules Contributing Author

The International Institute of Directors and Managers (IIDM) welcomes Authors Contributing to IIDM's Learning Modules, for publication on its web site.

IIDM endorses the many benefits of individuals and business' writing and publishing, through;

  • Sharing your expertise with potential clients,
  • Being seen as a thought leader in your area of expertise, and
  • Increasing awareness of yourself and/or your business.

Below are the Learning Module Contributing Author Requirements And Guidelines, as specified by IIDM:

Learning Module Letter of Engagement 

IIDM exclusively invites a limited number of business specialists / consultants to become a Contributing Author to IIDM's Learning Modules.

IIDM will work closely with the Contributing Author in the selection of the Learning Module topic, which shall encapsulate the Contributing Author's area of expertise and IIDM's topic requirements.

A signed copy of the 'Letter of Enagement Schedule' must be received prior to proceeding.

The 'Letter of Engagement - Contributing Author' provides IIDM with the authority to publish the Learning Module (as created by IIDM based on submitted material provided by the Contributing Author).

Learning Module Content, Structure and Format 

IIDM has established a design template which will be strictly applied to all Learning Modules created:

The content of the Learning Module is to:

  • Be of a high professional writing standard
  • Examine the topic in-depth, with the intention of enhancing business knowledge 
  • Raise awareness of the topic, share fundamental principles and provide issue resolution
  • Include exercises / worksheets / activities to engage the reader and strongly reinforce the learning

The structure of the Learning Modules will closely align with that of a training manual and is to include:

  • An introduction to the topic, core focus of the Learning Module and the anticipated outcome upon completion
  • Approximately 5 sub-headings, appropriately segmenting the content and moving logically from the identification of the issue through to resolution
  • A minimum length of 15 pages, maximum of 25

It is recommended the format of the Learning Modules include:

  • Bullet or numbered lists
  • Exercises and/or worksheets, and
  • Diagrams where appropriate

   

Preparation of Learning Modules

Written material (Word format, with basic text formatting only) and associated image files (.gif or .jpg format) for the Learning Modules must be submitted to our office via email: online@ceo.com.au

IIDM shall then convert the submitted material into its 'Learning Module Template' design.

Learning Modules Image Files 

Title and Contents pages: IIDM will source topical images.

Author's Profile: The Contributing Author is required to provide IIDM with a professional photograph of themselves, as well as a copy of their company logo.

Main Content: Any tables, exercises or worksheets will be re-produced in accordance with the 'Learning Module Template', however any unique diagrams or flow charts are to be provided by the Contributing Author.
