  • Increasing awareness of yourself and/or your business. IIDM has relationships with video distributor networks, which mean that the Video Seminar Extract published on the IIDM YouTube channel will reach a larger audience than IIDM's membership alone.

Output, Content and Structure

IIDM has established a set format which will be applied to all Video Seminars:

From the filmed interview, IIDM will create:

  • 1 x Video Seminar Extract (approx. 4 minutes) - Which will be featured on IIDM's YouTube channel and is available for the presenter to publish and share publically. NB - IIDM has secured a distribution arrangement with one of Australia's largest video distributors, so it is expected that the Video Seminar Extract will be widely seen by the Australian business community.

View a Video Seminar Extract on our YouTube channel :

  • 1 x Full length Video Seminar (approx. 20 minutes) - Which will be featured in the members-only e-Learning section of IIDM. Presenters have the option to offer their clients free access to the IIDM website, including full access to their Video Seminar plus all of the other resources available on the IIDM website at no cost. Alternatively the presenter will be provided with an embed link of the Video Seminar (hosted on IIDM's private video hosting platform) that they can feature on their website in a members-only area. The presenter will also be provided with a disk of the Video Seminar.

The content of the Video Seminar is to:

  • Be of a high professional standard
  • Examine the topic in-depth, with the intention of enhancing business knowledge
  • Raise awareness of the topic, share fundamental principles and provide issue resolution
  • Be interesting and engage the viewer through the power of their speaking ability

The structure of the Video Seminar:

  • Video Seminars are filmed in an interview-style format. A question is posed via a 'slide'. Questions are provided by the presenter prior to the filming
  • The presenter answers a total of 4 questions (for approx. 5 minutes each question), creating an approx. 20 minute video post-production
  • Each question should be able to be viewed in isolation, though when put together, afford a full view of the topic and its solution

Video Seminar Information

Prior to filming, the following must be submitted:

  • Title - Of less than 6 words

  • The four questions you will be answering - Limit question length to 5-10 words (so that they can be included on-screen post production)

  • A short description outlining the Video Seminar content (1-2 paragraphs) - To be used as a description on the website

  • Diagrams (if any) to be displayed within the Video Seminar to be provided prior to filming, so that we can ascertain that it fits within our video format - Diagrams to be provided in high resolution .jpeg format

  • Current profile photo - Provided in a large high resolution .jpeg format

  • Biography of less than 30 words (for inclusion in the Video Seminar)

  • Full length biography (for inclusion on the website)

  • Company Logo - Provided in high resolution .jpeg format

Filming Day

Some helpful guidelines are provided below:

Reference notes:

  • These are to be used as a quick reference only - don't write out your answer word for word
  • Dot points work best - create a simple PowerPoint presentation that can then be printed off as notes
  • Format to landscape and use a very large font size - 36pt or above. Test beforehand to ensure you can read them from a distance of 1-2 metres
  • No more than 4 A4 pages per question - less is best. Notes are changed over during a break in filming between each question

Diagrams:

  • You will need to reference the diagram directly when speaking - for example "This diagram illustrates…"

On the day of filming:

  • Ideal dress is a neutral coloured shirt (white or pale blue) and jacket.
  • Avoid overly patterend fabric or bright warm colours such as red, orange or yellow (which can throw up reflective glare and make you look red or orange).
  • Avoid large dangly accessories or necklaces as they can interfer with the microphone. You will be asked to remove them.
  • Mobile phones and other devices will need to be switched off and removed from pockets as they can cause interference with the microphones.
