How To Get Fit To Live

How important are you to yourself? Do you take time out to look after the no. 1 person in the whole world? Or, does your health and wellbeing come last on the list of priorities in your life?

To be productive and effective, looking after yourself should be the top priority in your life. You should be at the top of your 'to do' list.

How can you possibly continue working long and hard without maintaining yourself? Do you know what eventually happens when you stop maintaining something that is continually used? It will break down.

That's right. If you do not maintain yourself, you too will break down.

It's interesting how many of us will invest time and money into 'things' –computers, cars, houses etc., and yet avoid investing in the most important person on this earth.

Get Healthy

If you want to look good, feel good, have heaps of energy and avoid using your Medicare card you need to exercise regularly and eat healthily.

I know many of you didn’t want to hear that, yet there is no avoiding the issue.

There is no way you can continue to look good, feel good and have heaps of energy by doing nothing.

You may have been able to get away with it when you were younger, however your body changes over time.

Have you met anyone recently who you hadn’t seen for ages who looked fantastic all those years ago? I had a shock when I bumped into a former work colleague. I couldn’t believe how much he had aged. He was at least 10 kgs overweight, his face was like a balloon and he looked 55 years old. In fact he was only 42.

The Road to Health and Fitness

#1 Have a medical check-up
See your doctor for a full check-up.

#2 Visit your dentist
See your dentist twice a year. Prevent your teeth from deteriorating.

#3 Exercise
Check out your options: walk, swim, martial arts, gym, aerobics, rollerblading, team sports.

I’d like to add at this point, that if you are serious about sticking to some form of regular exercise routine, it would be very worthwhile to initially see a personal fitness trainer to put you on the right track.

#4 Nutrition
From personal experience, I find most people really have no idea about what they should be eating and drinking. Therefore I’d suggest you visit a nutritionist (dietician). A nutritionist will evaluate your current eating habits and work out a suitable solution to suit your specific needs.

The Final Word

If you want to look good, feel good, have heaps of energy, have a positive outlook, live longer, look younger then you need to do something about it. Take action today because you never know what may happen tomorrow!
