Competition Rules
Anyone can play but only a registered CEO Online web site or newsletter subscriber can be the Business Champion and cash prize winner.
The CEO Online newsletter or web site subscriber who achieves the highest salary at the CEO level (30 correct answers), will be acknowledged as the BUSINESS CHAMPION and awarded the cash prize of A$1,000.00.
Wouldn't you be upset if you achieved the highest salary at the CEO level, and then realised you were not a CEO Online web site or newsletter subscriber ... and therefore not eligible to be the Business Champion and receive the cash prize?
To be eligible to enter this competition, and gain the title of Business Champion AND win the cash prize on offer, the player must be identifiable as a CEO Online web site or newsletter subscriber (as described below):
- having successfully registered as a CEO Online subscriber before posting to the leader board; and
- be registered at the conclusion of the competition period (12 midnight (EST/DST), Melbourne, Australia, on 31 December 2008); and
- must ensure the email address entered when posting their result(s) to the leader board exactly matches their CEO Online subscriber email address.
A CEO Online web site or newsletter shall be deemed to be:
- an individual CEO Online subscriber (standard or Premium); or
- a Member or Fellow of the International Institute of Directors and Managers (IIDM); or
- an active member of The CEO Institute, or an employee of this member's organisation; or
- an individual CEO Online subscriber registered in accordance with arrangements agreed with wholesale subscribers (which includes Business or Academic subscriptions); or
- an individual CEO Online subscriber registered through an accredited CEO Online subscription partner; or
- an individual CEO Online newsletter subscriber registered to receive CEO News.
CEO Online employees, consultants, associates and their family members are not eligible to enter this competition.
The winner will be determined by a CEO Online management panel, and notified by email within ten (10) working days from the competition closure. The winner must respond from their registered email address within forty eight (48) hours of receiving such notification, and the response must provide their legal name, residential mailing address, phone number and, upon specific request from CEO Online, verification of their identity (eg. copy of driver's licence). Failure to appropriately respond in the designated time will result in the forfeiture of the Business Champion title and cash prize.
If at the end of the competition period, two or more players have achieved the equal highest salary at the CEO level, the cash prize of A$1,000.00 will be equally divided and each player will be acknowledged as the Business Champion.
The name and country of the winner will be published on www.ceoonline.com and in the CEO Online e-newsletter.
A player is only eligible to win the cash prize once per calendar year (ie. 2007, 2008, 2009 etc).
The competition is administered from the CEO Online office located at 80 Waverley Road, East Malvern, Victoria 3145, Australia, and finishes at 12 midnight (EST/DST), Melbourne, Australia, on 31 December 2008.
CEO Online reserves the right to exclude any player from participating in the competition, who obtains an unfair advantage contrary to the spirit of the game, or for any other reason which, in the opinion of CEO Online, represents an unacceptable practice. In addition, CEO Online shall disqualify a player who they believe or suspect is participating in the competition under a false or misleading identity.
By playing Who wants to be a CEO?, a player agrees, without reservation, to accept the rules of the competition as determined by CEO Online. CEO Online reserves the right to change the rules of competition, and the game from time to time. Each player acknowledges CEO Online's sole and absolute right in the awarding of the cash prize, and that no correspondence will be entered into regarding any decisions made by CEO Online. In the event of dispute, the General Manager of CEO Online will be the arbiter, whose decision will be final and binding on all players.
CEO Online may cancel the competition, at any time and for any reason, at its sole discretion.
